Joint practice

The Maidstone Pumas are back in action as Sunday the 27th January saw the Pumas host the Hastings Conqourors in their first full kitted practice of 2019.

The session was to run from 1-4 with the Puma coaches running drills assisted by Hastings coaches.

The day was set early as the Pumas had invited football America to attend from 11-1 for Puma rookie players to look and invest in some kit while the coaches set up the field.

At 1 players from both sides took to the field and began warm ups with Pumas players taking the lead.

after warm ups players split into individual groups and began to work on indi drills.

The WRs went to work through blocking drills with coach Lawrence and coach Stone. And then work on some catching drills.

The Dline got to work on their stances and firing off the line progressing into block shedding with some push and pull drills.

The Pumas and Hastings Oline got to work with some basic blocking drills. Which followed on from the previous weeks at the Pumas working on stances, footwork and hand placement.

The Pumas where able to allow their an rookie linemen take many reps and allow some veteran linemen to assist in developing their younger players.

bothe sides then merged their units for some unit drills and later went into a full scrimmage.

Pumas HC was very pleased with the day allowing the current class of 2019 to get reps in against competition and begin to install their plays against another teams defence.

The Pumas head to Hasting on the 17th where they will be visiting the Conqourors in another joint practice.
